Emre Arolat, Founder of EAA-Emre Arolat Architecture, has been elected as an Honorary Fellow of the AIA. The AIA Honorary Fellowship program honors international architects for their exceptional work and significant contributions to architecture and society on an international level. Arolat will receive his Honorary Fellowship and medal during the Investiture Ceremony which will take place on Friday, June 7 at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. Read more
The Mecidiyeköy Liquor and Cognac Factory was built in the early 1930’s with the design of renowned French architect Robert Mallet-Stevens in an empty estate surrounded by mulberry trees. Displaying the periods modernist tendencies, the building that has become rooted in the city’s memory for many years with its horizontal, strong and dramatic mass had completely lost its essential qualities due to the restorative activity it was exposed to during various periods; additions that were carried out insensibly and interventions far from refinement. The exhibition titled “Mecidiyeköy Liquor Factory as the Early Republics Daring Move and more: Grumbling in the context of City Memory. EAA- Emre Arolat Architecture” taking place within the scope of PİLEVNELİ Project and held at PİLEVNELİ Mecidiyeköy centers on the course of the Liquor Factory from the early 1930’s until today. EAA Studio London has received planning permission for 59 75 Reading. Reading Council’s planning committee approved the 92-unit residential scheme in Reading, which is a historically important minster town with a long ecclesiastical history. The scheme includes conversion, extension and new build for developers Allies and Urban High Developments joint venture. Read more

One of EAA’s latest projects, Yalıkavak Elements that rests upon a rocky hillside, having a panoramic view of the Yalikavak Bay, with an intense, unique landscape of olive trees and endemic plants, is about completion. The integration with its landscape and the slope, the buildings are considered as composition of horizontal platforms that extend into the landscape. The project was launched on August’17 with its first completed house that has recently been photographed by Cemal Emden. Read more
Located in Dolapdere, a district at Taksim area that is under urban transformation focused on art and culture, Pilevneli Gallery is an assertive example of an adaptive re-use. While aiming at a contemporary gallery space, the design keeps traces of the building’s past and existent patterns. The opening of the Gallery took place on September 12th 2017, welcoming two European artists; Johan Creten and Ugo Rondinone. Read more
